Fathers' Campout

The older 3 kids and I went to the ward's "Fathers and sons (and daughters) campout" friday night. All in all, it was pretty fun. The pictures are in "Upload order" instead of chronological order.
The Beaver Dams are still there and still beautiful.
Josh heading up the trail after the beaver dams. He stuck with me more than the other kids (who had run on ahead with friends) so that's why there are more pictures of him than them here.
He didn't want his jacket on, but I told him he needed to put it back on because it's easiest to carry that way. Walking in this position for a few hundred feet was his compromise.
SPLASH! The kids had fun tossing rocks in the stream.
Levi, Emma, Mimi Nelson, (an older Nelson sister whose name I don't know) and Anna Lund tossin' rocks in the stream.
I saw this and thought "Huh...ready-made natural firepit". Left it that way, though - we didn't need any more wild fires and the day was already warming up anyway.

Doug, Maddie, and Anna Lund hiked to the beaver dams with us.
I like the color and drops in this shot. too bad my lenbs couldn't capture reflections in the drops.

We filled empty pop bottled and launched them with a generator-powered air compressor. I tried to get Emma's rocket as it launched, but instead I only got its trail.
Friends and neighbors at the river -  Maddie and Anna Lund, Levi and Emma Nielson.
Thought the shot of Emma and Anna holding hands was cute as we walked back from the hike.

There was a rockslide on the side of the trail.
Hanging out at the new bridge that leads to the Crows' Nest campground.  Doug, Maddie, and Levi.
Better shot of the new Cement bridge. This is a big improvement over the old Wooden one.

I want something like this in my backyard someday and I'd like to have it end in a pool or pond next to a deck (with railing) and barbeque.

"Dad, I'm just waiting for you."

Another attempt at school pics

I think these turned out pretty well, but I still told the kids that they were practice shots and we'd have to try again when they're in nicer clothes. Hopefully the next attempt turns out even better!
