Another great quote
"Only when the truth is known is one actually making a choice; otherwise, he may be simply guessing at the course he should follow." -A Parent's Guide, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
I like the simple truth in this quote, but I also like the mercy and hope it offers for those situations when we have to choose between two good things or two bad things, rather than one good and one bad. If you honestly don't know what to choose, perhaps you're not as accountable as when you do.
I also like this one, just a few paragraphs after the first one: "Live just the way you expect your children to live." I expect my children to be better in general than I am because I know they can be and are, so if I live up to this quote, I also expect myself to be constantly improving and getting better. The quote also reminds me to be fair with the kids and stay grounded and realistic in my expectations of them.

Spring officially started March 17 with our first "Campfire Dinner" of the year, using the Portable firepit we bought at Walmart last year. Josh enjoyed his marshmallow and then asked to have his hands washed but I had to get a picture first.

What I had for dinner
Eating healthy is a lot easier when you can throw together a whole bunch of yummy vegetables like Green peppers, Tomatos, Cucumber, Spinach, Romaine, and Grandma Parker's sweet pickeled beets. Mmm....I didn't even need any dressing. The only thing missing was some pineapple tidbits. And for dessert, I'm going to have some strawberry yogurt after the kids go to bed.
Sledding on New Year's Day.
For the second time in Emma's Seven years, we took the kids sledding. The first time, the temperature was in the single digits, not counting the wind chill, and Josh face planted in the snow. it was a very short trip.
This time, though, the weather was warm, the snow was good for it, and the kids were older, so had more fun. As you'll see, we also played a bit on the playground equipment. We took a few spills, but it was still fun for everyone.

Where we've been
Shortly before Christmas, Josh noticed my upside-down laptop on the coffee table and thought it looked thirsty. Helpful boy that he is, he gave it a drink of sprite. after two trips to BestBuy, it was sent away to a repair center who kept it for a month before deciding it was not reparable and threw it away.
In the meantime, January hit and I spent 3 of the 6 weeks between January 3rd and February 4th in training in Madison, WI, with all expenses paid by the U.
So now February is here, I have a new computer (Thanks, Geek Squad black tie protection!) and I have finally found my photo-shop disc and reinstalled it. Here are a few pictures that We've taken over the past few months. Erin took most of the pictures since I'm still a bit annoyed that the camera isn't taking quality pictures like it used to.
Erin came home one night to find that Luke had put Daddy to sleep. I'm pretty sure the clock was wrong. And I blame the tiara completely on Emma. It had nothing to do with either me or Lucas!
Sometimes Josh's love is a bit more than Luke can handle. Josh is a great big brother, though, and is always tyring to make sure that Lucas feels loved and taken care of.
I love the "Do you see what I have to put up with!?" expression here as Emma and Levi wrestle in the background.

Emma, Christmas "Morning" at Grandma and Grandpa Parker's. (I think we actually opened presents in the afternoon).
The kids, Christmas Day 2010. Levi didn't want his picture taken, so that's why he's not in it too.

Not worth posting...
but I'll do it anyway. My Camera is really frustrating me because I think the sensor's going out on it. It can't handle the dark like it used to and the focus always seems off to me. Still, here are some pictures of the tree trimming we did today:
